sixty: art trade with azreenchan

I started out the drawing with the intentions of making it simple; so I would take lesser time to complete it. -was bummed out with too much work (my core-business: teaching; so I shouldnt be complaining about it but alas)..

so when I finished the pencil (drawing of azreen's face) I put on the pen and was just carried away with it.

The original doll can be viewed here. This doll is so gorgeous! The costume!! Come on, it's ridiculously marvelous!! It's so beyond what I am able to imagine...Apart from this different version of Cinderella's costume, I am also amazed by her own version of Alice's too. Am very envious of that imagination and creativity.

Honestly, this sketch is a true expression of who am I...urgh! I am too lazy to get the details perfect. And to make matters worse, time seems extra short these days. :( I am hurrying myself up before I lost my interest in finishing this part of the project. *sigh*

I am working on 3 more pieces. I nearly completed Cinderella. You can see a part of the drawing on the far right of the photo.

On the other hand, THIS (Edie with head piece) , apparently, is still on 'hiatus'...not sure when will I finish it. :(

Twenty three: Portraits 2007-2009

It's really quite here. I was overwhelmed with new things in school where I teach now. New loads of workload, new colleagues, new experience, new settings, new environment...

To keep things a bit noisier here, I decided to post up some of my old works in series. Hopefully I'll get back into my producing-art mood soon...

Here's a series of my (human) portrait drawings [only the ones that I still keep]. If you could notice, I sort of improve from time to time. The first 'portrait' was drawn in the year 2007 and the last one was drawn last year...

To get from the first one to the last one took a lot of ...erm..'figuring out' on my own..it's a lot of fun and I think I could pat myself on the shoulder for where I have brought myself to. But it's a looonngg wayyyy towards where I want to be (in this portrait drawing ).

I'm not sure if I would be able to finish this before I go for my posting. I still am not sure where my placement would be. But I sure do hope that internet connection would be available wherever I go.


You wont get it right the first time, I promise you. But you wont get anywhere without that first time.

I can't seem to finish this faster because for three days now, I seem to lost the enthusiasm and the 'energy' to work 'hard'.

That was the first time I knew about the Enchanted dolls. I was mesmerized by all of them. They are beautiful.

I'm not really a doll collector and anyways, I don't think I can ever afford them. So I decided to draw them. First doll--Emerald.
